The house is moored in the dunes near the Bay, elevated to avoid the inevitable floodwaters, which invade the site from time to time. Raising the floor level to rest on a container of water brings the view to the north into prominence and includes the oldest privately held island in continuous ownership in the US. Water and islands stretch to the horizon, a continuously changing canvas painted by the forces of nature.
